Explorer currentStyle and runtimeStyle properties

Reported by szegheo | September 27th, 2010 @ 12:35 PM

Explorer properties currentStyle and runtimeStyle are both undefined if the element was returned by $$. (With $ it's OK)

Example:

Test div

$$('.test').currentStyle returns undefined $$('#test').currentStyle returns undefined $('test').currentStyle returns object

It's the same with core version 1.2 and 1.3

    • State changed from “new” to “invalid”

$ returns a single element by id document.getElement returns a single element by selector
    $$ and document.getElements return a collection (an array in 1.2, an array-like-object in 1.3)

In order to access a property on an element inside a collection, use array indices.

    $$('div.class')[0].style

    or

    document.getElement('div.class').style
