Smoothscroll issue on Safari 3.1.1 (4525.18)

Reported by efkoj | June 10th, 2008 @ 10:57 PM

Hello guys,

I think i may spotted an issue on Safari (using safari on mac).

I have created a test case http://www.annekejanneke.be/test.... It works fine on FF and IE7. But safari does weird things. It tries to scroll but scrolls to the wrong location. And mostly doesnt scroll but jumps.

Or maybe its not allowed to smoothscroll on the body in safari?

Hi, I traced this to be a Safari bug having to do with document.html.scrollWidth/Height that is computed in Element.Dimensions in Core. Since you have absolutely positioned "pages", they aren't affecting the document.html scroll dimensions, but do affect the document.body scroll dimensions. We'll try to implement a fix for this in Element.Dimensions when it gets rewritten for 2.0, until then I suggest using some CSS to force the proper dimensions of the root element. I hope that made sense, let me know if you need more clarification. Thanks!
