Firefox getElements('[tabindex]') - Mootools 1.2

Reported by Brian | June 12th, 2008 @ 04:04 PM | in 2.0 (closed)

.getElements('[tabindex]') does not work correctly in Firefox (2.0.0.14)

This is a regression from Mootools 1.11

The correct attribute name is "tabindex" with a lowercase "i"

Example code which does not work in Firefox:

.getElements('[tabindex]').getLast().tabIndex;

I did find an undesired workaround, which

is to use an uppercase "I" in the attribute name:

.getElements('[tabIndex]').getLast().tabIndex;

The workaround breaks in all other browsers

    • State changed from “new” to “invalid”
    • Tag set to 1.2release, defect, firefox

    works here, probably it's already fixed. Attach a failing example if it doesnt work with the release for you.

    // alerts "y" in opera9.5, firefox2 and safari3 (others untested)
    alert(new Element('div', {
        html: '<input id="x" /><input id="y" tabindex="2" />'
    }).getElement('[tabindex]').id);
