mootools 1.2 fails in Adobe AIR 1.5

Reported by Kevin Dibble | November 18th, 2008 @ 06:36 AM | in 1.2.2

All Fx Fail Even the most basic of effects:

new Fx.Tween($('flvControls'),{duration: 100}).start('opacity',0);

This line returns a null value and causes adobe air to crash.

Adobe Air 1.1 Showed no issue with mootools 1.2 Adobe air 1.5 Fails mootools 1.2 While mootools 1.1 works with no issue for Effects.

Attached is the air application that worked In Adobe Air 1.1 but fails in Adobe Air 1.5

    I'm really getting more and more the idea that 'Air 1.5' needs a 1.5.1

    I'm having all kinds of weird unexplainable errors during debugging. Best of which is this:

    An internal error occurred during: "Match Job". String Index out of range: 614

    Most of the crashes i'm getting occur @ core.js line 1118:

    if (caller) object.parent = function(){ return arguments.callee.caller.__parent.apply(this, arguments); };

    Hope this helps anyone.

    I wrapped the above line in a try/catch construction now, and it seems like Air is no longer choking on it, nor throwing any errors during simple slide animations...

    @Kevin dibble: I also tried your fx.tween animation with my tri/catch fix, this also works now!

    Even with this hacked version of mootools1.2, Accordion runs into an endless loop in AIR 1.5

    FYI: Mike Chambers from Adobe:

    "This is an AIR 1.5 / Webkit bug (#1924182). It will be fixed in the next update."

    Great so is 1.2.2 being released? I have been hovering around this ticket checking for updates on 1.2.2 frequently and now that it is a confirmed bug with AIR itself, when is this train leaving the station? Just wondering...

    AFAIK this is a webkit bug, (Safari 4 DP also has the same problem), but WebKit nightlies are working correctly, there can be a workaround for that problem, but this should be fixed in AIR…

    • Assigned user cleared.

    This ticket needs to be marked by somebody as 'resolved' or 'hold'; the above comments confirm this is indeed a Air 1.5 bug, and a fix should be present in 1.5.1 which is due anytime soon.

    This should be fixed in MooTools 1.2.2. Open if you still experience issues.
