Element.getSelected behaves differently between FF/IE & Safari

Reported by pwieland | January 27th, 2009 @ 06:14 PM | in 1.3.0 rc2 (closed)

'version': '1.2.1',

'build': '0d4845aab3d9a4fdee2f0d4a6dd59210e4b697cf'

<select id="my_select"> <option value="a"> Option A</option> </select>

$('my_select').getSelected(); // Returns [ option ] in FF & IE, Returns [ ] in Safari 3.2

This is because Safari does not set the selected attribute in the option unless the user selects the option or the selected attribute is explicitly set in the html.

The result is two different behaviors between the browsers.
