getPosition/getScroll bug for input textbox in IE 7

Reported by mihai5k | March 18th, 2009 @ 02:19 PM | in 1.3.0 rc2 (closed)

if you have a textbox, and the entered text takes more space than the textbox, getScroll will not return 0,-> getPosition will return an incorect value.

The textbox (input type=text ) should not treat scroll values, as only the text inside scrolls, not the textbox itself.

replace get Position with getPosition: function(relative){

    if (isBody(this)) return {x: 0, y: 0};
    var offset = this.getOffsets()//,

    var scroll = {x: 0, y: 0};
    if (!
     scroll = this.getScrolls();

    var position = {x: offset.x - scroll.x, y: offset.y - scroll.y};
    var relativePosition = (relative && (relative = $(relative))) ? relative.getPosition() : {x: 0, y: 0};
    return {x: position.x - relativePosition.x, y: position.y - relativePosition.y};

    mihai5k - any chance you can provide a test case in a shell ( ? It would really help. I assume this has been fixed since 1.2.1 to be honest.

    Sorry it took so long to reply!

    Marked as invalid until test case is provided.

    Sorry but we're trying to get the bug tracker under control. Unless you can provide a test case we would rather mark as invalid than leave it hanging as unresolved. Hope you understand.
