Extending JSON parser for handling JS Date

Reported by Daniele C. | May 5th, 2009 @ 09:47 AM | in 2.0 (closed)

Hi all,

I was making some test and I've notice something I've never seen before: JSON parser does not encode or decode JS Date object.

I was reading the JSON parser fromt www.JSON.org ( http://www.json.org/json2.js ) and I've seen that it handles the JS Date object encoding it in the ISO format (e.g. 2009-05-05T08:32:07Z ).

I know it's possible to convert the Date Object in a number with the getTime() function, but I really like better to encode the date in a specific format and decode it without conversions.
