#787 ✓invalid

$() doesn't extend <object> elements in IE

Reported by synax | November 16th, 2009 @ 07:15 PM | in 2.0 (closed)

$() doesn't seem to extend elements in IE.

In the above example, replacing .setStyle('display', 'none'); with .style.display = 'none'; works.

    • State changed from “new” to “invalid”

    Unfortunately it's impossible to do so and nothing we can do about that. A workaround is to use the generics for embed and object:

    Element.setStyle(someObject, 'display', 'none');

    This caveat is already documented.
