$type and ActiveXObject

Reported by kentaromiura | February 18th, 2010 @ 08:41 AM | in 1.3.0 rc2 (closed)

$type throws error when it tries to directly refer obj.item on an ActiveXObject in IE, but since ActiveX expects to be called with an index you can't invoke it directly neither to check if it exists,
instead you can safelly use the typeof function to check if it returns 'unknown', I know is weird :)

I've made a working patch, you can see it here:
http://github.com/kentaromiura/mootools-core/commit/1d5803f07e59f18...

this is a code to reproduce the bug:
http://gist.github.com/306978

and this is the original code that expose me the bug:
http://gist.github.com/306963
(you need Sarissa: http://dev.abiss.gr/sarissa/) to run it

Byez.
